Day 1: Yerevan - Khor Virap - Lusashogh - Noravank Monastery - Mosrov Cave - Zorats Qarer
In the morning meet Elitar Travel representative for coffee and a briefing on the jeep trip ahead. Drive to Khor Virap, the place of pilgrimage of Armenians, from where you can have the best view of Biblical Mount Ararat.Here you can descend the underground chamber where Gregory the Enlightner was imprisoned for 13 years in 3-4c. A.D. when he tried to spread Christianity in Armenia. Continue tour to Noravank monastery of 13th c. Then the jeep adventure will go on further to Mosrov Bear’s Cave, a great trail dressed in wildflowers. After winding our way through this spectacular land we arrive at Zorats Qarer (Stonehenge), ancient observatory 5mil B.C. and then drive to Goris for great food and rest. The whole driving distance is 280 km. Overnight in Goris or Sisian.
Day 2: Goris - Khndzoresk - Tatev - Devil’s Bridge-Goris
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Khndzoresk which is a cave village and there are many signs of past settlement throughout the valley. You will see that many of the caves have been carved out by man and they served as houses for people. You will find the ruins of a village, a beautiful ancient church and very old tombstones. Drive to Tatev Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 4x4 adventures through a narrow ravine so deep that the sun hardly reaches the bottom. Stop at the Devil’s Bridge to enjoy the powerful nature scenery. Overnight in Goris or Sisian.
Day 3: Goris - Her-Her -Selim Pass - Noraduz - Sevan Monastry - Yerevan
Enjoy breakfast and drive to Selim Carvansaray via Her-Her village. If you seek a jeep path less taken then this tour is just at your disposal. The off-road trail gradually climbs up over 2,410m in elevation following the historic Silk Road past Selim Caravanseray. Visit to Noraduz and continue to Lake Sevan. Descend to 2,000 m. to catch the first glimpse of Lake Sevan, the Jem of Armenia. Dinner in Sevan with tasting local fish. Drive back to Yerevan for overnight.
Day 4: Departure.
